Soo, I bought a new concealer a couple weeks ago!
The Tarte Shape Tape Concealer has been so hyped up, so I wanted to check it out. Plus I’m a total concealer junkie. It is slightly scented and smells florally, but subsides after a while. This may bother some but it doesn’t bother me. It is too fair for my skin tone so I put on a lot of bronzer to balance it out and my face makeup ends up looking pretty good after!
Price and Place
I bought the concealer in stores at Ulta as it is unavailable on the Sephora website. It retails for $25 USD; however, the Tarte website sells it for $31 CAD which is cheaper than $35 CAD online on Ulta. There is 10 ml or 0.34 fl.oz, which is more than any other concealer I’ve purchased! This will last you a while.
Colour and Coverage
I bought Fair Neutral, but it is way too light for my olive complexion. It is a pretty fair shade and is suggested for those who are fair with pink undertones. In my next post I will do a swatch comparison of each concealer I own so readers will be able to see what each product looks like side-by-side. I noticed that there aren’t many posts that do that, so I wanted to try something new. I feel as though those types of posts will make online shopping a little more easier. The Shape Tape definitely has high coverage as it claims! It creases much less than other concealers I’ve tired, it is brightening, and very easy to blend out. I love the creamy consistency to it, so the full coverage matte finish doesn’t look horrible, but rather, it looks radiant. It’s interesting.
- Easy to blend
- Full coverage
- Creases less
- Covers dark under eyes
- A little goes a long way
- Can crease a bit if you put on a lot or if you layer with another concealer
- Scented, but goes away a few minutes after applying
