“Packing light” has never been a thing for me, and this is true especially for makeup! I always feel the need to bring two foundations, two highlighters, and four lipsticks. Let’s be real, looking and feeling good is important to me. Translating an important makeup routine into a travel makeup routine can be difficult, but it doesn’t have to be! I have some quick tips and products to help you out.

1) Travel Sized Products
These types of products can be found at grocery stores. The grocery stores have travel sized makeup remover packages, deodorant, and moisturizers.
2) Beauty on the Fly
These are the way to go! They are small enough to fit into a makeup bag and “pack light” but large enough to definitely get a couple uses out of it. Some examples are the Better than Sex Mascara by Too Faced which could be found at Sephora on Beauty on the Fly. Another example is the Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner and Bow and Arrow mini Duos, which again, can be found at Sephora on Beauty on the Fly.
3) Sephora 100 Point Perk Rewards
Sephora has some bomb point perk rewards each month! Point perks are cute deluxe sample sized products which are perfect for travel. You get points each time you purchase products and one dollar is one point. I was at 916 point but, having used my point perks for three rewards I am now at 616. #NoRagrets. I found the picture above online and it shows some older point perks. If you want to see what is available now, check out the Sephora website or you local Sephora store :).
4) Samples from Sephora
Sephora is one of the only makeup stores that actually give out samples. Yay! This is great for trying out new products before you buy them and can also be handy because the product gets put in a small container. You are allowed up to three samples at Sephora so don’t overdo it!
5) Dollar Store Containers
At the Dollar Store, there are some mini plastic jars which would be perfect for bring foundation or primer.
6) Sephora Birthday Gift
Sephora has yearly birthday gifts if you are a Beauty Insider, VIB, or VIB Rouge. Each year there are two options for the birthday gift, usually a makeup option and a skin care option but I opt for the makeup option every time! (Go figure ;)). The first time I received my birthday gift I got two deluxe sample sized NARS matte velvet lipsticks. These were so cute! The second year I got the deluxe sample sized Marc Jacobs Lipstick in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and the Gel Eyeliner. My first post on this blog actually was written about the products. Scroll down and check it out if you’d like! And this year, I got the Tarte blush and mini creamy matte lip paint.
In my next post, we’ll take a look at what’s in my travel makeup bag!
