So as you all know I am obsessed with concealers. My collection is quickly growing, so far I have 3 different concealers that I alternate and use pretty much on a weekly basis.
I reviewed the Naked Skin Concealer by Urban Decay as well as the Better Skin Concealer by Maybelline so I figured that it was time to talk about the Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Crème!
I purchased this concealer back in January because of the price range, amount of product, full-coverage finish, and wide colour range to pick from. I ended up really liking it! I bought the concealer in the shade Light 7 which is described as a “fair buttercream” with a “warm undertone”. It is definitely a fair buttercream shade with yellow undertones and I think that is why it creates such a brightening effect on me. It retails for $34 CAD. I bought this one because it comes with 0.22 oz and the Urban Decay concealer comes with 0.16 oz for $35, there was more product for a dollar less.
I have outlined some pros and cons below:
-Very pigmented, it can cover up tattoos
-Conceals dark under eye circles – my dark circles are concealed
-Best applied with a damp beauty blender
-Can also be applied with a brush, and appears more full coverage
-Three dots under my eye area is enough to provide the coverage that I want, a little goes a long way
-May be too thick/cakey if I get carried away with the application process
-More likely to crease
-Applicator is great for personal use but can get unsanitary when using it to apply directly on others
*This was taken from the KVD website, but note that the colour appears lighter and more of a light yellow in reality. It looks like the swatch more so than the picture of the colour in the tube. It appears a tad lighter than the Kat Von D foundation in the shade Warm 45, so these two products are great to use together!
Now that you have heard my thoughts on this product, I’d be curious to hear about your thoughts on the Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Crème!
