Mel R, here, writing to you from Las Vegas!✈️💃🏻♣️🃏
I haven’t been blogging much as I was preparing for my stats lab and midterm ahead of time because I’ll be in Vegas for the next five days! I think I’m going to blog about it when I get back!
Before going on the trip I was stressed but now I’m pretty excited now that I am here!!
I miss my baby dog though:(
Right now it’s about 12:15 am but from where I’m from it would be 3:15 am. I feel as though the time change really compliments my sleep schedule LOL
This Motivational Monday post is a bit late but for today’s quote I chose is,
“Ask for what you want, and be prepared to get it” -Maya Angelou
At first glance, I thought the quote alluded to the idea of “be careful what you wish for -you just might get it”. Then, I thought of how it is very brave to go for what you want because speaking up and voicing what you want can be intimidating. Lastly, upon further contemplation, I think it’s significance also lies in the way the quote conveys themes such as assertiveness, decisiveness, and consistence. Knowing what you want is about being decisive, asking for what you want portrays assertiveness, and consistence is communicated by stating that one should be prepared to get what they want. -There is no time to back out once decide to do something.
All in all, the message I took away is that if you want something you should go for it. Reach out and grab it or speak up and ask because if you don’t, the answer will always be “no”.
Take charge and go for what you want, don’t hold anything back.
