Motivational Monday

Time to start the week off right!

I know that people typically don’t like Monday’s because it marks the end of the weekend and Friday is a ways away. I never understood what people had against Mondays haha, I mean after all, it is just a day. Maybe it was because I only went to school 2 days a week for 3 semesters in my undergrad- and Monday was not one of those days. So I guess you could say that I came to love Mondays. Perhaps because I had a day off but maybe because I spent most of my time scrolling Instagram for inspirational quotes. Not going to lie, I am a picture hoarder and most of the pictures on my camera roll are quotes like this:

“I wake up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time”. – E. B. White

To me this speaks volumes and I feel like it represents what I stand for. I believe that the change begins from within- starting with checking biases and assumptions. I recognize that I may not be able to change the world, but I can start by helping those that need guidance. With a social work degree (and hopefully a masters degree in Clinical Psychology) I can reach out to vulnerable populations, advocate to change procedures in the professional setting, and give others a chance to feel heard.

Work without some R&R can lead to burnout in any work related context. Seeking balance while pursuing my dreams is one heck of a way to make a mark and have one hell of a time doing it. Additionally, I really do believe that a career is simply not considered “work” if you enjoy doing it.

I hope that these Motivational Monday posts keep you looking forward to Mondays as they do for me!

Happy Monday! xo
